DIPON LuminaCast 7 Design Flow Epoxy Resin 3 Kg
Product Details
High-Viscosity Design Epoxy Resin for Controlled Creative Effects
DIPON® LuminaCast 7 Design Flow is a premium design epoxy resin Malta artists, makers and professional workshops can use for resin art, decorative casting, surface finishing and controlled creative effects.
Its high-viscosity formulation and specialised flow behaviour give artists greater control over colour placement, patterns and decorative details. The resin flows smoothly during application while helping pigments and design elements remain more controlled than they would in a very low-viscosity casting resin.
Choose LuminaCast 7 when clarity, gloss and controlled movement are more important than maximum flow. It is particularly suitable for resin art, geode designs, decorative surfaces, trays, jewellery, doming work and detailed handmade projects.
Choose This Resin When You Need
- Greater control over pigments and decorative effects
- A high-viscosity epoxy resin for resin art
- Slower, more controlled flow than standard casting resin
- A crystal-clear and glossy finished appearance
- A resin suitable for layers between 1 mm and 20 mm
- Approximately 50 minutes of working time at 23°C
- Compatibility with mica pigments, colour pastes and alcohol inks
- A versatile system for artwork, moulds and decorative surfaces
What Makes Design Flow Different?
- High viscosity: Helps provide greater control over colour placement and decorative patterns.
- Special flow behaviour: Designed to move smoothly while resisting the rapid spreading associated with lower-viscosity casting resins.
- Crystal-clear finish: Suitable for transparent projects and designs where clarity is important.
- UV stabilisation: Formulated with UV absorbers and light stabilisers to help delay yellowing.
- Self-deaerating properties: Supports the release of air introduced during careful mixing.
- Low shrinkage: Designed to cure with very low dimensional shrinkage.
- Solvent-free: Part of the professional DIPON® LuminaCast epoxy system.

When to Choose Another Resin
Choose a lower-viscosity resin such as LuminaCast Crystal Flow, Coaster Cast or Gem Flow when you need the resin to enter very fine mould details, flow rapidly around complicated inclusions or penetrate narrow spaces.
Choose LuminaCast Table Flow, Ocean Flow or another approved deep-pour system when your project requires a casting depth greater than 20 mm in one pour.
Choose LuminaCast Art Flow when you need a high-viscosity resin for painting and surface techniques but do not require the specialised controlled-flow characteristics of Design Flow.

Mixing Instructions
- Condition Resin A and Hardener B to the recommended working temperature before mixing.
- Place a clean mixing container on an accurate digital scale.
- Measure two parts Resin A and one part Hardener B by weight.
- Do not measure the components by volume.
- Mix slowly for approximately three to four minutes.
- Keep the mixing speed below approximately 300 revolutions per minute to minimise unnecessary air introduction.
- Scrape the sides and bottom of the container thoroughly while mixing.
- Transfer the complete mixture into a second clean container.
- Mix again for approximately three to four minutes before adding colour or pouring.
Application Instructions
- Make sure moulds and surfaces are clean, dry and properly prepared.
- Seal porous materials such as wood before the main application.
- Add compatible pigments or colour pastes gradually after the resin has been mixed correctly.
- Pour or apply the resin slowly to reduce unnecessary air introduction.
- Do not exceed the recommended maximum layer thickness of 20 mm.
- Use the complete mixed quantity within the available working time.
- Protect the project from dust, moisture and sudden temperature changes while curing.
Preparation Notes
- Temperature, mixed quantity and casting thickness affect working and curing times.
- Larger mixed quantities generate heat more quickly and reduce the available working time.
- Do not leave a large quantity of mixed resin inside a deep mixing container.
- Test colours and decorative techniques on a small sample before starting an important project.
- Excessive pigment loading may affect flow, transparency and curing performance.
- Use only clean and completely dry tools, moulds and inclusions.
- Allow the resin to complete its full chemical cure before sanding, polishing or placing it into service.
Safety Information
- Read the product label, technical data sheet and safety data sheets before use.
- Wear suitable nitrile gloves, protective clothing and safety goggles.
- Avoid skin and eye contact with uncured resin or hardener.
- Work in a properly ventilated area.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling epoxy resin.
- Do not use contaminated tools or containers.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Do not pour unused resin, hardener or mixed epoxy into drains.
