DIPON LuminaCast 3 Crystal Flow Epoxy Resin - 3 kg
Product Details
DIPON® LuminaCast 3 Crystal Flow Epoxy Resin – 3 kg
LuminaCast 3 Crystal Flow is a highly transparent, low-viscosity epoxy resin developed for detailed moulds, decorative castings and clear resin artwork between 1 mm and 10 mm.
Its excellent flow allows the resin to reach narrow spaces and fine mould details, making it a practical choice for jewellery, pendants, coasters, trays, encapsulations and layered decorative work.
The formula is self-deaerating and contains UV absorbers and light stabilisers to help minimise bubbles and slow down yellowing. As with every epoxy resin, prolonged exposure to sunlight and heat should still be avoided where maximum clarity is required.
Choose This Resin When You Need
- A highly transparent resin for detailed decorative castings
- Very low viscosity that flows easily into fine mould details
- Controlled casting layers between 1 mm and 10 mm
- A smooth, glossy finish for clear or pigmented projects
- Approximately 35 minutes of working time for a 200 g mixture at 23°C
- A resin suitable for jewellery, coasters, trays and transparent embedding
What Makes Crystal Flow Different?
LuminaCast 3 uses a particularly low-viscosity hardener. This helps the mixed resin move freely through intricate moulds, around small inclusions and across detailed surfaces.
Its self-deaerating formulation helps trapped air rise from the mixture, while the UV absorbers and light stabilisers improve resistance to yellowing. Careful mixing and suitable working conditions remain essential for achieving clean results.
The resin is solvent-free and cures to a hard, glossy finish with a final hardness of approximately Shore D81 after seven days at 23°C.
Ideal Applications
- Resin jewellery and pendants
- Silicone mould castings
- Coasters and decorative trays
- Clear encapsulations and inclusions
- Small decorative objects
- Layered resin artwork
- Glass-fibre and carbon-fibre laminates
- Transparent and pigmented creative designs
Compatible Materials and Products
- Suitable silicone moulds
- DIPON® mica and effect pigments
- Transparent resin dyes and compatible colourants
- Dry decorative inclusions
- Glass and carbon-fibre reinforcement
Always test pigments, colourants and inclusions on a small quantity first. Moisture in moulds, wood, flowers or other inclusions can cause cloudiness, bubbles or curing problems.
When to Choose Another Resin
Choose LuminaCast 2 Coaster Cast when you want a slightly thicker resin with more control for coasters, embeddings and mould work.
Choose LuminaCast 4 Gem Flow or another suitable LuminaCast formulation when you require a higher viscosity or a casting layer beyond 10 mm.
For river tables, lamps and other deep castings, choose EpoxyPlast 3D B50 Deep Pour or another resin specifically designed for the required casting depth. Do not use Crystal Flow for a single pour exceeding 10 mm.

Mixing Instructions
- Bring both components and the working area to the recommended temperature before mixing.
- Using an accurate digital scale, weigh two parts Resin A to one part Hardener B.
- Measure the ratio by weight only. Do not measure it by volume or alter the ratio.
- Mix slowly and thoroughly for 3 to 4 minutes at no more than approximately 300 rpm.
- Scrape the sides and bottom of the container while mixing.
- Transfer the mixture into a second clean container.
- Mix again for another 3 to 4 minutes to produce a homogeneous mixture.
- Pour within the available working time and do not exceed a casting thickness of 10 mm per layer.
Preparation and Application Notes
- Use clean, dry and contamination-free tools, moulds and inclusions.
- Do not mix directly inside the original resin or hardener bottles.
- Mix slowly to avoid introducing unnecessary air into the resin.
- Do not scrape unmixed material from the first container directly into the final project.
- Higher temperatures and larger mixed quantities accelerate the reaction and shorten the available working time.
- Lower temperatures can increase viscosity and extend curing time.
- Never leave a large mixed quantity sitting inside a deep mixing container because epoxy generates heat as it reacts.
- For multiple layers, follow the recommended recoating time or prepare the cured surface correctly before applying another layer.
Curing and Finishing
Protect the casting from dust, moisture and movement while it cures. Demoulding time is approximately 16 to 24 hours under the stated conditions, but the piece will continue developing its final properties afterwards.
Allow approximately five to seven days at 23°C before sanding or subjecting the finished piece to demanding use. Cooler conditions or variations in casting thickness may extend these times.
Safety Information
- Read the product label, technical information and safety data sheets before use.
- Wear suitable chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Avoid skin and eye contact and do not inhale vapours or sanding dust.
- Keep the product away from children and pets.
- Do not pour uncured resin or hardener into drains.
- Dispose of unused material and contaminated packaging according to local requirements.
These instructions do not replace the manufacturer’s technical information or safety data sheets.
