DIPON® LuminaCast 4 Gem Flow Epoxy Resin – 3 kg
LuminaCast 4 Gem Flow is a highly transparent, low-viscosity epoxy resin designed for resin art, jewellery, coasters, trays, Petri Art and decorative castings between 1 mm and 20 mm.
It is thicker and slower-flowing than LuminaCast 3 Crystal Flow, giving artists greater control over pigments, patterns and decorative effects while still flowing smoothly across surfaces and into detailed moulds.
The self-deaerating formulation helps reduce trapped bubbles, while UV absorbers, n-HALS light stabilisers and low-yellowing hardener components help preserve the resin’s clarity over time.

What Makes Gem Flow Different?
Gem Flow sits between very thin casting resins and thicker artistic resins. Its hardener has a dynamic viscosity of approximately 890 mPa·s at 23°C, providing more control than LuminaCast 3 Crystal Flow while remaining within DIPON’s low-viscosity category.
This balanced flow makes it suitable for transparent castings, decorative layers and projects where pigments or visual effects should remain under greater control.
The formulation is solvent-free, contains bio-based components and is compatible with DIPON® alcohol colours, epoxy pigment pastes and effect pigments.

Surfaces, moulds and decorative inclusions must be clean and dry. Always test unfamiliar pigments, colourants and materials with a small quantity before starting the main project.
When to Choose Another Resin
Choose LuminaCast 3 Crystal Flow when you need an extremely low-viscosity resin that reaches the finest mould details and produces a faster, freer flow.
Choose LuminaCast 5 Radiant Flow when you want a slightly thicker and slower-moving resin for greater control over artistic patterns.
Choose LuminaCast 6 Art Flow or LuminaCast 7 Design Flow when you need a high-viscosity resin that holds colours and decorative patterns more firmly in position.
For castings deeper than 20 mm, use EpoxyPlast 3D B50 Deep Pour, LuminaCast 8 Table Flow or another resin designed for the required casting depth. Do not exceed Gem Flow’s recommended 20 mm layer thickness.

Mixing Instructions
- Condition both components and the working area to the recommended temperature.
- Using an accurate digital scale, weigh two parts Resin A to one part Hardener B.
- Measure the ratio by weight only. Do not measure by volume or alter the ratio.
- Mix slowly and thoroughly for 3 to 4 minutes at no more than approximately 300 rpm.
- Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container carefully.
- Transfer the mixture into a second clean container.
- Mix again for another 3 to 4 minutes to produce a homogeneous mixture.
- Pour within the available working time and do not exceed 20 mm per layer.
Preparation and Application Notes
- Use clean, dry and contamination-free tools, moulds, surfaces and inclusions.
- Do not mix directly inside the original resin or hardener containers.
- Mix slowly to avoid introducing unnecessary air.
- Do not scrape unmixed material from the first container into the finished project.
- Higher temperatures and larger mixed quantities accelerate the reaction and shorten the working time.
- Lower temperatures increase viscosity and may extend curing time.
- Never leave a large mixed quantity sitting in a deep container because epoxy generates heat as it reacts.
- Moisture can cause bubbles, cloudiness, surface defects or curing problems.
Layering, Curing and Finishing
For a 20 mm casting at 20°C, the next layer can normally be poured after approximately 8 to 12 hours. Environmental conditions, casting thickness and pigment additions can change this timing.
A 20 mm casting is normally demouldable after approximately 16 to 24 hours at 23°C. Demoulding does not mean that the resin has reached its complete chemical cure or final performance.
Allow approximately five to seven days at 23°C before sanding. If the surface still feels soft, rubbery or tacky, allow additional curing time before machining or sanding it.
Food-Contact Guidance
The manufacturer states that the formulation is free from listed sVHC and CoRAP substances and may come into contact with food after complete chemical curing.
Correct measuring, mixing and curing are essential. Do not use partially cured, sticky or incorrectly mixed resin for food-contact applications. Avoid using the finished resin as a cutting surface or placing hot cookware directly onto it.
