Warm Orange-Yellow Glow for Resin Art and Decorative Projects

DIPON® Glow in the Dark Orange-Yellow is a photoluminescent pigment powder developed to absorb light and release a visible orange-yellow afterglow in darkness. It is ideal for resin artists, makers and creative workshops looking to introduce a distinctive warm luminous effect into decorative projects.

Mix the pigment into a suitable transparent or lightly coloured binder, expose the finished piece to a strong light source and enjoy a glow effect once the surrounding environment becomes dark.

Choose this pigment when you want something warmer and more decorative than a traditional green glow, particularly for resin artwork, jewellery, inlays, signage and custom night-time effects.

Choose This Pigment When You Need

  • A warm orange-yellow glow-in-the-dark effect
  • A pigment suitable for clear or lightly tinted epoxy resin
  • Decorative details that remain visible in low-light conditions
  • A dry powder that can be mixed into compatible resins, paints and binders
  • A luminescent effect for artwork, jewellery, signs or novelty projects
  • An inorganic phosphorescent pigment containing no microplastics

What Makes It Different?

  • Photoluminescent effect: Absorbs energy from a light source and releases it gradually when placed in darkness.
  • Warm glow colour: Produces an orange-yellow luminous effect rather than the more common green glow.
  • Fine powder: The 30–50 µm particle size allows the pigment to be distributed through suitable casting and coating materials.
  • Inorganic composition: Manufactured as an inorganic luminescent phosphor pigment.
  • No microplastics: The manufacturer classifies the pigment as containing no microplastics.
  • Creative versatility: Suitable for experimenting with resin art, coatings and other compatible transparent binders.

Ideal Applications

  • Epoxy resin artwork
  • Resin clocks and decorative panels
  • Jewellery, pendants and charms
  • Coasters and resin trays
  • Resin inlays and filled details
  • Glow-in-the-dark signs and lettering
  • Pathway and orientation markers
  • Decorative paint effects
  • Model making and hobby projects
  • Novelty and seasonal decorations

When to Choose Another Pigment

Choose a different glow pigment if you require a green, blue, violet, red or another specific luminous colour. Green and yellow-green pigments may also be more suitable when maximum perceived glow brightness is more important than achieving a warm orange-yellow effect.

Choose a conventional mica, metallic or opaque colour pigment when the project does not need to glow after the light source has been removed.

How to Mix

  • Make sure the resin, paint or binder is compatible with dry pigment powders.
  • Measure the required amount of base material before introducing the pigment.
  • Add the pigment gradually rather than adding the complete amount at once.
  • Mix slowly and thoroughly until the powder is distributed evenly.
  • Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container to prevent unmixed pigment from remaining.
  • Apply or pour the material according to the instructions supplied with the selected resin or binder.
  • Allow the finished project to cure or dry completely before testing the glow effect.

Recommended Starting Test

Pigment concentration affects the daytime appearance, opacity, flow and final glow intensity. Begin with a small test batch and gradually increase the pigment concentration until the required effect is achieved.

Always record the amount of pigment and base material used so the result can be repeated accurately on future projects.

How to Achieve a Stronger Glow

  • Use a clear or lightly coloured resin or binder where possible.
  • Avoid very dark or heavily opaque base colours, as these can reduce light absorption and visible afterglow.
  • Distribute the pigment evenly throughout the material.
  • Use an appropriate pigment concentration for the thickness and type of project.
  • Charge the finished piece under strong sunlight, ultraviolet light or another bright light source.
  • Place the project close to the charging light for more effective exposure.
  • Test the effect in complete darkness, as ambient light will make the glow appear weaker.

Preparation Notes

  • Carry out a compatibility test before using the pigment in an unfamiliar resin, paint or coating.
  • Glow intensity can vary according to pigment concentration, charging time, light strength, layer thickness and background colour.
  • The visible daylight colour may differ from the colour observed in darkness.
  • Some pigment may settle in low-viscosity materials before curing; monitor the mixture and select a suitable resin system for the intended application.
  • Do not add excessive pigment, as this may affect the flow, curing behaviour or mechanical properties of the base material.
  • Always follow the processing and curing instructions supplied with the selected resin, paint or binder.

Safety Information

  • Read the product label and available safety documentation before use.
  • Avoid breathing pigment dust.
  • Wear suitable respiratory protection when handling or mixing fine powder.
  • Wear protective gloves and safety goggles.
  • Work in a clean and properly ventilated area.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the pigment.
  • Keep the container tightly closed when not in use.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not dispose of loose pigment powder into sinks, drains or the environment.

Storage

  • Store tightly sealed in its original container.
  • Keep in a cool and dry location.
  • Protect from moisture and contamination.
  • Keep away from food, drinks and animal feed.
  • Use clean, dry tools when removing pigment from the container.
